Children need exposure and practice with how to interact as a citizen of this digital world. The Piano and Laylee book series introduce students to strategies for how to deal with important topics at an early age. The illustrations are crisp, the analogies are simple yet well designed, the characters are fun, and the stories help ingrain good practices that will last a lifetime! Whether you’re an educator, parent, or just a concerned family member who is looking for a cute gift to give that kid in your life who is into technology, definitely pick up any or all of the Piano and Laylee Adventure Series!

How early are children learning to text in contemporary society. Second graders are coming to school with smartphones and being instructed by parents to use them in case of emergencies. Beyond that, texting can be a great strategy for helping with spelling, writing, and learning to communicate effectively. Therefore, it is a good idea to expose students in activities that teach them positive practices for texting as early as possible! This book in the series centers around the two characters misinterpreting the messages they are sending one another and figuring out that true friendships persists beyond instances of miscommunication. If you know a child who is using texting, about to use text, or is craving the use of text messaging, this is a must read book!
